Excited to announce that "The Old Brood" written by Vincent Veloso & Matt Meinsen made the 2024 Big Apple Film Festival quarterfinals! Now, onto the semis and finals! Fingers crossed

"The Old Brood": After a Special forces veteran is murdered at the V.A., the victim’s widow calls on his war buddies to find out who is responsible and avenge his death, which ultimately reveals sinister old wounds and darker secrets."

Writer Statement

Vincent Veloso: At first it seems a mystery revenge story, but as the action and drama progress, we delve into the complicated areas of PTSD, suicide, grieving, and the bonds between veterans and families in fictionalized 1980s Reagan Era Cold War missions.

Matt Meinsen: “The Old Brood” is not a war film as much as a period film about the lifelong effects that war can have on those involved. Taking place in the year 1993, we meet the team through a series of flashbacks to times of both war and peace, in which they encounter humor and tragedy, love and loss and forge lifelong familial bonds that won’t be broken, no matter the physical or psychological costs
